Cut, Copy, Paste and Delete

Users can perform Cut/Copy-Paste and Delete Operations on all the Question types, Sections and options. These operations are performed to expedite the process of building your survey in case you want same set of questions or options to be uses at different parts of your survey.

Cut, Copy, Paste and Delete for Questions

Users can Copy/Paste or Cut/Paste the question within the same Section or in some other Section of the survey and can also Delete the question from the survey.

Copy/Paste can be done in below two ways:-
  • By right clicking over the question text: Users can access the copy paste functionality by right clicking on the question texts appearing in the left pane.
Select the question you wish to Copy/Cut and right click over its text. A pop-up will appear giving you options for Cut, Copy and Paste. 



Select the desired operation you wish to perform.

Now select the Section and right click on that section name where you wish to paste the copied question. Click on Paste.



Your question will get copied.



To delete your question, Click on Delete.



A confirmation pop-up will appear. Click on "Yes". your Question will get deleted.

  • By Edit menu : Users can also perform Cut/Paste, Copy/Paste and Delete operations by going in the Edit menu of design page.
Select the Question you wish to copy/paste and Click on Edit. You will be able to see the Cut, copy and paste options.



Now select the desired operation you want to perform on the selected question. Select the Section in which you wish to copy/paste or cut/paste the question and click on “Paste”.



Your question will get pasted in the selected Section.



To delete your Question, simply select the Question and Click on Delete.



A confirmation pop-up will appear. Click on "Yes". your Question will get deleted.




Cut, Paste and Delete for Sections 

Users can only perform only Cut/Paste and Delete operations for a Section. 

These operations can be accessed in below two ways:-

  • By right clicking over the Section text: Users can access the Cut/Paste functionality by right clicking on the Section Name appearing in the left pane.
Select the Section you wish to Cut and right click over its text. A pop-up will appear giving you options for Cut, Paste and Delete. 



Select the desired operation you wish to perform. Now select the question below which you wish to Paste your Section. Click on Paste. Your Section will get pasted.

Click on Delete to delete your Section.


  • By Edit menu : Users can also perform Cut/Paste and Delete operations for Sections by going in the Edit menu of design page. The procedure remains same as that applied for Questions


Copy, Paste and Delete for Options/Items

For Multi-choice and Single-Choice question types, users can Copy/Paste long option lists from excel to the design page.

Follow the below steps for Copy-Pasting options from Excel.
  • Select the option list from your excel you wish to paste in your created question in Design page and click on Copy(Ctrl+C).

  • Now in the Design Page, for your particular Single-choice/multi-choice question, select the first option bu clicking over it.

  • Now, click Ctrl+V.

  • Your option list will get pasted.
Note: Copy/Paste from excel is only applicable for categorical questions i.e. Single-choice and Multi-choice.

Users can Delete their options from Option setting List as below:--
  •  Click on the Option Setting icon for a respective option you wish to delete.

  •  in the appeared list click on Delete to delete the option.
